From SATA-Peru-2007

This morning I woke up tired but excited. Everything was packed, but I still had that nervous feeling that I'd forgotten something.

Well, I thought, if I don't have it by now, I'm not going to have it. Jen dropped me off at the van where I met Adonnica, Rick, Hayley, and Manuel. Anne Marie drove us to the airpot. It felt good to finally get this journey underway. I was sick of talking about it, sick of people wishing me luck and telling me to be careful.

We all met up at the Hartford airport, checked in and said our goodbyes. Our flight to Atlanta was quick and smooth (relative to the next one we were about to take). Leaving Atlanta on our way to Lima was a different story. Heavy Rains, mechanical issues, and changing wind direction held us up a bit, but finally we were in the air, settling into our 7 hour flight. There was a provocative flight attendent who told shana he loved her hair, and called her "baby".

Finally, we arrived in Lima and made it through customs with 90-day visas. We eventually got all our luggage (after a little scare with Shana's) and made it to the vans waiting for us outside. It was a tight ride. I could barely see Kerry, she was buried under so much luggage.

The hotel we arrived at was nice and we managed to be in bed by 3:00am Peru time (4:00am by our body clocks). I was hungry going to bed and looking forward to a big Peruvian breakfast the next morning... Shana can let you know how that worked out.
