From SATA-Peru-2007

Well, I have to be honest, there's not much to write today.

Everyone is still pretty tired after our wonderful week of adventure across the Peruvian paisaje (pronounced "pie-eee-saw-hay" ... english translation: countryside...but paisaje sounds cooler here). We had Spanish class at the usual time, which felt especially painfully early today, followed by Ethnoecology. Evidently, the journey had taken a noticeable toll on us, as the members of my Spanish class and I were labeled "quite boring" that day by our teacher. I guess we'll have to try and be a little more entertaining from now on. Thenceforth, my fellow Spanish-speaking colleagues and I resolved to be more energetic in class by eating dark chocolate beforehand because Erich read a study describing how it mitigates chronic fatigue and stimulates endorphin production. Sounds like a win-win situation. I mean, even if the claims are totally false it still tastes amazing...I probably wouldn't be too mad. So we all bought a lot of chocolate after class.

We were assigned a good measure of reading for our classes later on that week, so most of us spent the rest of the day trying to balance sleep recovery with fulfillment of our educational obligations, although most of our balance was less than perfect...leading us to lean more towards scholastic endeavors of course. A few of us decided to end the night with a mini-decompression session at an outstanding local cafe, to be followed up by a most welcome full night of sleep back in our Fray Bartolome bedframes. Got a bar of dark chocolate on the nightstand for tomorrow's Spanish class... let's hope that study's legit.
