From SATA-Peru-2007

I think we all woke up tired today. Last night we had a great (although short) soccer game. As soon as we arrived at the field, it started to rain. Normally, this would only add to the fun of it, but whereas we were playing on a concrete pad, it made things a little dangerous. After the game, we returned to the hotel and helped Darwin prepare some hot chocolate.

The morning brought another round of spanish classes followed by Anna Maria's Ethnohistory class. Today we disscussed the seven ways of obtaining a profit and the pros and cons of each. Although the class is called ethnohistory, it's almost like an economics class. I've never taken one, so it's been pretty interesting to me, although it's hard to follow everything she's saying because it's all in spanish.

The afternoon was spent reading for Manuel's class on Forest stratification and the biodiversity in Cocha Cashu, where we will be heading in a few weeks. Quechua class consisted of learning a new quechua song and practicing our numbers.

I don't have any photos from this day, but I thought this one was cool from our trip to Paccarectambo, Wilfredo's hometown. Note the gasoline can in the lower left corner (this is where the stored their chicha!)
