From SATA-Peru-2007
Believe it or not, this was the first day since we’ve gotten to Cusco that we have had a truly free day to relax, with nothing on the schedule. I got to sleep in (until 10:30!), by far the latest since being here. Despite breakfast technically ending at 10, they still pulled out the standard breakfast of bread with butter and jam, and café Americano for us.
For lunch, a group of us went up to San Blas, an area with a bunch of restaurants and a very European feel. We ate at a French restaurant that we deemed to be fairly new that had crepes as the main item on the menu. Delicious.
In the afternoon, Gloria, one of the cooks, gave Hailey a haircut. (We got a little worried at first when she flipped her hair forward and seemed to be just cutting it all off… all’s well that ends well, right?) I played photographer.
At night, all 12 students went out to celebrate Darwin’s birthday with him. It was one of the few times that we were all able to go out together. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, not only because of our main entertainment: a man from California who was dancing with more energy and comic enthusiasm than you can imagine.
¡Ciao!
