PDF Help

From Acorn

To upload a PDF, click on "Upload file" in the toolbox, find the file on your computer, and upload it. Before you upload the file, ensure it has a "unix-friendly" name: only letters, numbers, no spaces, with hyphens and underscores allowed, and a .pdf extension. We are currently limited to uploads no greater than 30 Megabytes

You cannot reliably embed a PDF in a wiki page, for all web browsers. You can either:

1. Link to the PDF description page, using this syntax :Image:Test.pdf

Example: Image:Test.pdf

2. Link to the PDF's description page, with a name different from the PDF, use this syntax College

Example: College

3. Link directly to the PDF file, using this syntax

Example: Media:Test.pdf

4. Link directly to the PDF file, with a name different from the PDF, use this syntax

Example: College

5. Link to the PDF's absolute URL:

Paintings

To do this, first go to the PDF description page. You can find it in Special pages>File list or Special Pages>Gallery of new files. Then, click on the icon to go to the actual PDF file. Then copy the URL in the browser.

Finally, paste it using this syntax: [AbsoluteURL Paintings]
