Visual Resources Library
From Acorn
The VRL is located in Room 212 (the area code of Manhattan) of Cummings Arts Center. Open Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM.
The VRL houses an extensive collection of 35mm slides of art and architecture, but now that few faculty or students use slides anymore, the library's greatest visual resources are its windows. Visitors are invited to experience its panoramic view of the Long Island Sound, the Thames River Valley, the Gold Star Bridge, and most beautiful of all, Millstone Nuclear Power Plant.
For digital imaging, you are encouraged to visit or to phone (x2729) or to e-mail (mmbra@) for assistance with scanning images, locating images on the web, gaining access to Art History course review webpages, navigating ARTstor, using Photoshop, and adding images to Powerpoint presentations.
You may also make an appointment to view prints of the Wetmore Print Collection, which includes Rembrandts, Durers, and Japanese woodcuts. Many of these prints also can be viewed as high resolution digital images here
The web site for the VRL is here.
Mark Braunstein (x2729, mmbra@conncoll.edu) is the Visual Resources Librarian.
